I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
