Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Seekers and Strategists groups.
